
AIIMS has released a notification for the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2024 on January 7, 2025, for 4,591 vacancies in various Group B and Group C positions. Some of these positions, including Data Entry Operator Grade A, Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA), Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Senior Administrative Assistant (SAA), and Upper Division Clerk (UDC), require a typing skill test. The application process began on January 7, 2025, and will close on January 31, 2025. AIIMS CRE Typing Skill Test Features
- Typing Language:- Either in English or in Hindi as per the Candidate choice and for DEO post only English Typing.
- Typing Font:- For Hindi Mangal Inscript Keyboard layout will be used. But some AIIMS prefer Kruti Dev 010 font.
- Typing Speed:- 35 w.p.m for English and 30 w.p.m for Hindi typing.
- Time Duration:- 15 minutes.
- Passage Length:- Minimum 2625 Keystrokes in English and minimum of 2250 keystrokes in Hindi. For DEO post minmimum 2000 keystrokes in English.
AIIMS CRE Typing Area Features:
The typing passage will be displayed at the top of the screen, while the designated typing area will be located below it.
Eariler in AIIMS Typing the features of Word Highlighting, Error Highlighting, and Auto-Scrolling was enabled. But, during AIIMS CRE - 2023 typing all the features were disabled. Therefore, AR Typing Platform suggest to practice wihtout any features.
The backspace key is fully enabled, allowing candidates to correct any errors at any time during the typing tests.
To get qualified Candidate must have typed minimum 2625 keystrokes in English or 2250 keystrokes in Hindi.
The gross speed and net speed will be calculated based on the total keystrokes typed, with 5 keystrokes being equivalent to one word (5 keystrokes = 1 word). Errors will be assessed on a word-by-word basis, taking into account any mistakes made during the test.
For this, the Candidates are advised to practice regularily on AR Typing Platform to enhance typing speed while maintaining high level of accuracy.
AIIMS CRE Typing Test Error Evaluation
The error will be only evaluated after typing minimum 2625 keystrokes in English and 2250 keystrokes in Hindi. Failed to type minimum keystrokes will be remarked as Insufficient Attempt.
- Error Calculation with Penalty Mistake
For each mistake of word there will be penalty shall be 50 strokes/ characters or 10 words (5 strokes = 1 word).
Total Mistakes = Full Mistake + Half Mistake / 2;
Penalty = 50 * Total Mistakes;
Gross Speed = Total Keystrokes Typed / (5 * Time Duration in Minutes);
Net Speed = (Total Keystrokes Typed - Penalty) / (5 * Time Duration in Minutes);
- Accuracy Percentage(%)
There is no any error relaxation mentioned in the AIIMS CRE notification. But, as per the previous instructions the candidate has to maintian high level of accuracy percentage.
Accuracy Percentage(%) = (Net Speed / Gross Speed) * 100
