
The Railway Rectuitment Board (RRB) has officially announced Centralized Employment Notice No. CEN 05/2024 on September 13, 2024. The RRB earlier issued short notice on September 02, 2024 regarding the selection for a total of 8113 vacancies of NTPC Graduate Posts with CEN no. 05/2024 and for a total of 3445 vacancies of NTPC Undergraduate Posts with CEN no. 06/2024 across all RRBs. The application process will begin on September 14, 2024, and will continue until October 20, 2024 for Graduate Posts and for Undergraduate posts the application will begin on September 21, 2024 and will continue until October 27, 2024. RRB NTPC 2024 Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the RRB NTPC Graduate and Undergraduate posts, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility requirements set by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).
- Educational Qualification:
For the position of Graduate Post minimum required qualification is graduation from a recognized university and for the position of Undergraduate Post minimum required qualification is 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
- Age Limit: The crucial date for calculating the age limit is January 01, 2025. The age limit for Graduate posts is set between 18 and 36 years, and for Undergraduate posts is set between 18 and 33 years. There will be age relaxation as per different Castes & Category and for this please follow the official RRB notification.
RRB NTPC 2024 Recruitment Selection Process
The selection process for RRB NTPC 2024 recruitment mainly of five stages. Each stage of the selection process require to be qualified to proceed to the subsequent next stage of the selection process.
- First Stage of CBT
- Second Stage of CBT
- Typing Test (Skill Test)/ Aptitude Test
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 Skill Test/ Typing Test Features
- The RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test will be for the post of Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper.
- The Typing Skill Test will be of only qualifying nature thus the marks obtained here will not be added to make the merit list.
- Typing Language:- The typing skill test will be either in English or Hindi as per the choice opted by the candidate during form filling.
- Typing Font:- The candidates opted for the Hindi Language have choice to type using Krutidev 010 or Mangal Font using Remington Gail keyboard layout.
- Typing Speed:- The minimum typing speed required to qualify will be 30 words per minute for English or 25 words per minute for Hindi.
- Time Duration:- 10 minutes will be given for typing for English or Hindi.
- Passage Length:- The minimum passage length for English will be of 300 words and for Hindi it will be of about 250 words.
NTPC Typing Area Features:
The typing passage shall be displayed on the upper half of the screen, and the designated typing area shall be located directly below it.
There will be no word highlight, no error highlighting, no auto scrolling facility available.
The backspace key will be disabled.
The candidates can retype the passage if they completed the whole passage within given time duration of 10 minutes.
The candidates will get disqualified if they fail to type atleast 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi in given time duration.
RRB NTPC Skill Test/ Typing Test Error Evaluation
The error evaluation for RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test/ Typing Test will be based on the Full Mistake and Half Mistake error calculation rules with word by word basis. The detailed typing rules and instruction of last year's error evaluation can be found at the following link:
- Error Calculation based on Words:
Total Mistake = No. of Full Mistake + No. of Half Mistake / 2
5% mistake of total typed words are ignored during error calculation.
Final Mistake Count = Total Mistake - 5% of Total Words Typed
- Net Typing Speed Caluclation Formula:
Typing Speed = (No. of Total Words Typed - Final Mistake Count * 10) / Time Duration in Minutes
Thumb Rule:
Candidates are advised to practice regularily for the RRB NTPC English or Hindi typing tests to achieve a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute for English or 25 words per minute for Hindi, while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Remember, each incorrect word after 5% error relaxation will result in a penalty of 10 times the number of errors, which can reduce your typing speed by 1 word per minute. Therefore, focus on maintaining the required speed while ensuring high accuracy.
